Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou has questioned the use of new VAR protocols in the EFL Cup semi-finals63jili, which are taking place this week. (More Football News)
Unlike in the Premier League, referees will explain VAR decisions to the crowd through an in-stadium microphone, which will sync up with the PA system.
The measure is a trial and is limited to when the referee has checked the pitchside monitor and overturned a decision. It will also only concern decisions made on offside and accidental handball by a goalscorer.
While Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was supportive of the measure, suggesting it brings added clarity, Postecoglou was of the opposite opinion.
"Do I welcome it? No," he said on Tuesday.
"Do you think if they had shown the handball on the weekend that our supporters would have been happy?
"Would they have come away and said, 'oh, that's great, they explained it?'"

"But it shouldn't surprise anyone if I'm not a sort of cheerleader for those kinds of things."
